Papers, 1890-1958.

Collection consists of the personal papers of Dr. Minnie Howard (1872-1965) and her husband, Dr. William F. Howard (1868-1948). Included are biographical material, correspondence, material related to their careers, historical works and research notes related to local Pocatello history, records of the Oregon Trail Memorial Association, Dr. William Howard's medical papers, and records related to the various women's clubs with which Dr. Minnie Howard was involved. A large collection of photographs accompanies the papers. The following clubs are represented in the collection: Daughters of the American Revolution, the Women's Christian Temperance Union, the Prohibition National Committee, and the General Federation of Women's Clubs, as well as other patriotic societies and temperance organizations. Material related to the Oregon Trail Memorial Association include correspondence, miscellaneous records, items relating to Fort Hall and Ezra Meeker, and a variety of ephemera. Among Dr. William Howard's medical papers are birth certificates (1911-1943), records relating to local Pocatello hospitals, correspondence and publications relating to Cancer Control, correspondence with the American College of Surgeons and the Idaho State Medical Society.
